Many exclude the roof itself when it failed from age or deferred maintenance. Every policy is different, and we will never tell you what yours covers before the adjuster does.
What we do control is the documentation. From the first visit we photograph the leak source and every affected room, log moisture readings throughout drying, and write an itemized estimate in the line-item format adjusters work from. When the claim is clean, it moves.
It depends on four things, and we tell you which ones apply before work starts: how large an area needs tarping and how steep the roof is, what the roof is made of (tile takes longer than shingle), how far the water traveled inside, and whether drying equipment is needed to prevent mold.
